Apologies: G.Walker, G.Hodgson, Harry Guttridge Agenda: Over 60 Tournament. A discussion took place on the format of the new over 60 Cup Tournament. The Chairman explained that at a recent meeting of Midland counties, Warwickshire, Leicester, Nottinghamshire and Durham had expressed concern that the tournament was being run as a regional round robin and not as a straight forward knockout as previously requested. As such they have decided to write to the EIBA expressing their concern that the round robin had introduced too many matches and requesting that it revert to a straight knockout. If this was not done they felt they may be unable to enter next year. After discussion it was decided that Yorkshire would write a similar letter but with the proviso that we would have to review the situation. Yorkshire v Patrons It was felt that the match should be reduced to six rinks in order to assist the Patrons in securing the required number of players. This is to be followed up by the Seniors Secretary. Midland Counties Our Chairman is also the Midland Counties Chairman this season and he has requested seven rinks for the annual match at South Forest. Barry feels that each club should be represented at this. Over 55 Interclub League Les has distributed Division 1 & 2 fixtures of the Over 55 League. A discrepancy in division 2 had been pointed out by Selby and this has now been rectified. Could all score cards be sent to Ian Clough at York IBC and not to Les Bingley, the Over 55 Secretary. Sponsorship Les expressed concern over sponsorship which at present is received from a solicitor in Scarborough in addition to the Evans’s Group who have also acted as sponsors to the county for 4/5 seasons. As future sponsorship is unknown, he felt it would share the responsibility if all players could help identify future sponsors. Les is to write to the Scarborough sponsor concerned in an attempt to obtain an increase in their sponsorship amount. Badges & Midland Counties Bar Awards. It was felt it appropriate to present badges at the first league match. Barry Johnson is keeping records of the number of games played by members in order to gain the required criteria of 8 points for county awards. The point system remains unchanged at point for a friendly, 1 point per competitive match and 2 for the Liberty Trophy. Shirts The Yorkshire Seniors final shirt sample had not been received. An initial order of 72 various sizes have been ordered subject to final approval. It was expected that the sample we are awaiting may arrive in days. Ian and Les will approve this when it comes. Les felt confident however that he would have the shirt for the forthcoming Yorkshire AGM for display. Web Site Yorkshire Seniors have their own web site and players are encouraged to visit the site. Any articles can be forwarded to Peter Lees at Scarborough. Meals After Matches It was agreed where possible that tea and biscuits are supplied after games in place of a set meal. This would help to reduce the cost of match outlay in addition to ensuring an earlier departure for players travelling home
